Fix iMonnit Push Notifications on Android

  • Only a single iMonnit User can have Push Notifications enabled on a device (so be sure you have only a single User).
  • The version of Android or iOS must be the most recent.
  • The app must be a current version of the PWA app (not the deprecated legacy app from the App Store).
  • The appropriate permissions must be enabled for the app (Notifications permissions enabled).

To enable the Push Notifications feature in iMonnit:

  • Clear your Google Chrome browser cache (only Chrome's PWAs are supported - on Android, the PWA cannot be installed an operating using other third party browsers).

Delete the currently installed version of the app (even if it is the existing PWA mobile app). On Android, you can long press the icon on the home screen and drag to uninstall.

Follow the steps to install the current version of the PWA mobile app: How to Install the iMonnit Mobile App - Monnit Knowledge Base

Before logging in, enable Notifications permissions in Settings:

    • Select Settings.
    • Select Notifications.

    • Select App Notifications

    • Make sure "All Apps" is selected at the top of the page.

    • Toggle iMonnit On.

  • After enabling the permissions, launch the iMonnit PWA mobile app.
    • Log in with your User.
    • Select the hamburger icon to expose the main menu.
    • Select your Username.
    • Select the Notifications tab.
    • Turn on the toggle switch for Push Notifications. Do not select “Save”.

Your browser type should show up in the Push Notifications section. If it does, you can press the “paper airplane” icon to test. You should see “success” with an accompanied notification on your device. You can proceed to enable your User to receive push notifications.
