Setting Up (2FA) via Authenticator App
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds a vital layer of security to your iMonnit account. By requiring a dynamic verification code in addition to your password, you significantly reduce the risk of unauthorized account access.
This article guides you through enabling 2FA using an Authenticator App—such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator—within the iMonnit Online portal.
Prerequisites
-
An active account.
A smartphone with one of the following apps installed:
- Google Authenticator
- Microsoft Authenticator
Steps to Enable Authenticator App 2FA
- Navigate to 2FA Settings:
- Log into your iMonnit account.
- Select Users from the main navigation menu on the left.
-
Click on the 2FA tab (represented by the key icon) in the top-right horizontal menu.

- On the 2FA page, locate the Authenticator App section.
-
Click the down arrow (v) to expand the section.
Generate the Setup Code:
- Click the Generate New Code button.
-
A unique QR Code and a Manual Entry Key will appear on the screen.

-
Note: If your camera cannot scan the code, select the manual entry option in the app and type in the secret key provided by iMonnit.
Verify and Link:
- Once scanned, a 6-digit code for "iMonnit" will begin cycling in your app.
- Enter the current 6-digit code into the verification field on the iMonnit page.
- Click Verify or Enable to complete the process.
Managing Remembered Devices
After 2FA is active, you can view your Remembered Devices on the right side of the 2FA dashboard.
- Re-Auth In: Shows how many days remain before that specific device requires a new 2FA code.
- Revoke Access: You can click the Trash Can icon next to a device to force a 2FA challenge upon the next login for that machine.
Security Tip: Always ensure your mobile device is backed up or keep a record of your recovery codes (if provided) to ensure you don't lose access to your account if you lose your phone.
